Ann flew into Bordeaux yesterday while we were there boxing up our bikes. We exchanged a few texts, but managed to elude each other, not quite by design. Today, however, we were reunited with our Fourth Musketeer from our Rhine Rumpus trip.
Bordeaux was not putting it's best foot forward today, with the "unpredicted" or "intermittent" (depending on your choice of weather apps!) rain falling steadily all day...
But Ann was cheery, as always, and we trekked around and explored churches, medieval gates, St Andre's Cathedral, and cafés.
It is May Day today, so many places were closed for the holiday, but we found plenty to explore despite the uncooperative weather. I think we walked about 16,000 steps before we dropped Ann off at the train station to catch a bus back to her hotel near the airport.
It's wonderful to think of her pedaling toward a reunion with Mo in Saint Émilion as Kate and I board the plane to head back home tomorrow morning!
