Day 26 - Bordeaux's Public Garden


We spent much of this morning strolling through this lovely public park. There were some fanciful plantings like this:

...which resembled a flattened Easter basket, but mostly just very natural looking groupings of native plants, many of them in full bloom. 



Kate and I have both been struck by the city's attention to trees. Numerous streets are lined with mature trees that completely shade the sidewalks from what could certainly be intense afternoon sun. 

And our visit has been perfectly timed to find the Pink Chestnut trees in bloom. 

I was also delighted to see this colorful little hedgehog on a lighting store. 

Bordeaux has something at every turn to make us smile!
